It is undoubtedly a contemporary option when in Windermere. Absolutely comfortable beds. Staff was FABULOUS, they made our trip! It was next to Windermere.
-
Nice view, everything was amazing. We booked a king room and really enjoyed it.
-
Storrs Hall is a mansion south of Windermere in the beautiful Lake District NP. It may be a bit expensive, but it's worth it. The location at the lake and all around makes the stay very pleasant. It's wonderfully quiet here. One could also celebrate a wedding or any other event here. Room and breakfast (with view of the lake) were great. I strongly recomment it!
Everything's great!
-
If you're in search of a position in the vicinity of the lake, staying here is worth considering.
-
The very relaxing lounge - a real nod to a previous era and lifestyle. The food was fantastic.
There was a musty smell in our room. Some guest beers would have been a good choice from the one on offer.
-
The staff really made you feel they were bothered about your needs - very efficient and attentive and friendly
6 miles is a long way to go for the Spa facilities
-
I liked it as I have stayed before, this time they had not received our reservation which was disappointing, also they could not accommodate us in the restaurant made do with bar meal.the room was ok they said we were upgraded but I had already booked an upgraded room.on the whole this trip was special but disappointed because of the method on line for booking yet not being received.
The lack of staff and some it communication.
-
Our room was excellent The food when it arrived was excellent.
The service in the bar was only average-poor untidy behind the bar. One round of drinks never arrived in the restaurant whilst waiting for dinner. The length of time to be served dinner was rediculously long 1 hr 15 min between starter and main course.. Ran out of wine...no free wine offered Breakfast 59 minutes before full breakfast served and 30minutes from sitting down-waiter service and getting a fruit juice-tea. Gave up on the free wi-fi could not send emails-ages to open as well?
-
Staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Furnishings and fittings excellent. Free internet easy to access.
Restaurant menu is very restricted if you are staying for more than a day. Standard of food is not as high as you might expect from a hotel of this quality. Better to eat out most days.
-
I liked the peaceful location and calmness within the hotel
I would have liked a pair of slippers in my room and a shelf in the shower for toiletries
-
The history and architecture of the building and perfect location and stunning views.
-
Excellent service and facilities
I thought it rather over priced, especially the food which was also rather diminutive. The atmosphere also a little stuffy both figuratively and literally. Some dilapidations had not ben attended to.
-
Everything! Excellent standard, pleasant and helpful staff. Fine dining! Excellent hotel and grounds. The Storrs Hall Hotel really is a hotel experience not to be missed!
The hotel is more like a 5* experience than a 4*. I particularly enjoyed the Terrace Restaurant that looks directly out onto Lake Windermere. The food is excellent, and it is truly a fine dining experience.
-
Good room size, plenty of hot water. Good breakfast.
Despite sufficient vegetarian choice, the 2 dishes we chose were far too rich and not enough range in the dish. I.E. large plate of over-creamy risotto and no other veg.
-
Good food, fred waiter very nice bowness itself
None of the above words suit. The words are, old fashioned, cluttered bed rooms + lounge, tired, colonial, although clean dirty glasses left for hours in bar, decor tatty in places
